Stay in touch with children and grandchildren across the country. Share photos and videos in seconds. Research your family tree. Enjoy the convenience of “running errands” from the comfort of your home. All of these benefits and more await you in a series of free computer classes offered at the Mt Holly Town Library, 1 Maple Hill Road, Belmont, VT 05730, in partnership with Vermont Telephone Company (VTel). These beginner classes will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, June 6/13 – 7/1 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. No previous computer experience is necessary to attend. During the sessions, participants will learn how to set up an email account and utilize the infinite resources available on the Internet. Soon you can be connecting with family and old friends; witnessing news as it happens; making travel arrangements; shopping online to get the best deals, or send gifts with ease; finding and listening to music; and much, much more. “Helping people access the infinite resources available online at the click of a button feels wonderful,” says Lynne Herbst of the Mt Holly Town Library. “I’m excited to be a part of this, and to witness how this will enrich the lives of those who participate.” Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase their own HP Mini Net Book for only $99 plus tax (which has a suggested retail price of $279.99) if they are not yet a VTel DSL customer. In addition, VTel will send a technician to their home to install the computer and launch the service. To sign up for the classes, call librarian Lynne Herbst at (802) 259-3707. Space is limited, so sign up soon! |
