Robocall Mitigation Notice: July 1, 2021

In order to help reduce the number of illegal robocalls that may originate on our network, effective July 1, 2021, VTel & VTel Wireless have implemented robocall mitigation efforts to monitor our network and verify that calls origniating over our network are legitimate numbers belonging to a valid VTel or VTel Wireless customer. In line with FCC rules, users of VTel or VTel Wireless’ voice services are prohibited from originating illegal or spoofed robocalls with the intent to defraud, cause harm or wrongly obtain anything of value from the recipient of the call. Violation of these terms can result in suspension or termination of the user’s voice telephone service(s).

VTel and VTel Wireless are very concerned about the number of suspected illegal and unwanted robocalls our customers receive and the potential harmful impact they can cause. Everyday, scammers from use the telephone try to trick people out of money or obtain access to personal information from people like you from all parts of the world. To help you and your family avoid becoming a victim of unwanted and potentially unlawful robocalls,

How Robocall Mitigation Efforts Are Being Enforced


  • FCC Rules & Congressional Acts
  • Truth in Caller ID – Under the Truth in Caller ID Act, FCC rules prohibit anyone from transmitting misleading or inaccurate caller ID information with the intent to defraud, cause harm or wrongly obtain anything of value.
  • Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act (TRACED Act) of 2019 – A variety of robocall mitigation efforts enforced by the FCC.
  • VTel and VTel Wireless’ updated Voice Terms of Service as of 07/01/21.
